Let There Be Love Oasis Single Review and Lyrics

"Let There Be Love" is a popular song on the Oasis album, Don't Believe the Truth. Written by Oasis chief song writer Noel Gallagher, it is the only second Oasis song to feature  both Liam and Noel on lead vocals.  The first to do this was the fan favorite, "Acquiesce". Acquiesce was a B-side to Some Might Say.

The lyrics in the song reflect a heart felt piece, intended to reflect on and inspire love.

Let There Be Love was was released on November 28, 2005 as the third single from the album in the UK, and the second single in the US.  It's B-sides were, "Sittin’ Here In Silence (On My Own)" and a live recording of Rock 'n' Roll Star from a show at Manchester on 2 July 2005. The Japanese version has a live recording of Don't Look Back In Anger from the same show.

Let There Be Loved reached number two in the United Kingdom charts. The previous two releases from Don't Believe the Truth went in at number one (full Oasis single discocgraphy). These chart entries were cited as proof that Oasis had returned to form not seen since the heady days of Britpopmania. 

An initial demo for the track was recorded during demo sessions for Standing on the Shoulder of Giants album. A bootleg of these demo sessions was leaked onto the Internet in early 2000. This track was given the unofficial title "It's A Crime" on many bootlegs as the track was unknown and unreferenced anywhere before then. 

The final album version of the Let There Be Love is very similar to that leaked demo with a small change to the melody that Noel sings. New lyrics were used. The single version of the song omits the second verse and chorus.

A second, Noel Gallgher sung demo was released on the "Let There Be Love" DVD single. It has the same lyrics as the album version, and the album version takes some elements from the demo such as the piano.

The promotional video is a mixed montage of some of Oasis' live shows during the summer tour of 2005 including snippets of the shows at Hampden Park and the City of Manchester Stadium. Perhaps ironically the clips don't actually show the band playing 'Let There Be Love' - in fact Oasis have only perfromed the song once for a promo on an Italian radio show.
