Oasis Set lists from the 2008 The Dig Out Your Soul Tour
The Oasis Set List Archive has done what it's name suggests and SO here's pretty much every Oasis show set list from 2008.

-Though a mediocre show so far, it was picking up by the time Morning Glory was being played. Unfortunately, just as Noel was about to sing “weeeeeeeeell” somebody (who Noel says can only be described as a “Canadian”) jumped up on stage and tackled Noel, before he was seized by security (and Liam). Noel fell badly and the band left the stage for ten minutes before coming back on to finish the show.
-Ain’t Got Nothin’ is dropped.
-Champagne Supernova is dropped. It was originally planned to be played with Paul Weller like on the album, but it seems that after the incident Noel didn’t feel up to it.
-Due to the twat jumping on Noel this became the last show of the North American Tour. The London Ontario gig was rescheduled and the New York gig was cancelled. Later it was announced that the three show European leg had also been postponed.
- The whole show was broadcast on radio, so a soundboard bootleg exists of it.

2. Substitute
3. Up In The Sky
4. (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady
5. Come Together
6. Helter Skelter
7.Birthday
8. Happiness Is A Warm Gun
-Two The Who covers, and 4 Beatles covers! There is a recording of Noel covering Come Together with Paul McCartney and Paul Weller, but he does not sing it. Although an instrumental of it is being performed this tour, Helter Skelter has not been played in full since 2000. Noel has played Won’t Get Fooled Again live with The Who, but the band has never played it. Substitute is all new. High Horse Lady has never been played live, and Up In The Sky was last played in 1995. Let’s hope they play some of these songs in concert. Happiness Is A Warm Gun and Birthday have never even been soundchecked before!

Noel Gallagher's Bar Bill

On the current tour, Oasis mainstay Noel has been doing a bit of an on line diary. Yep, that's right Oasis understand Web 2.0 and social media....

Fresh from playing in Germany Noel posted his bar bill....

29 pints of Guinness
16 pints of Strongbow
6 pints of Jupiler (whatever the fuck that is!)
4 pints of Heineken
3 Gordon's gin
5 Sauza Tequila
12 Bacardis
11 Vodka Stolis
14 Jameson whiskey
10 Bushmills Malt
16 bottles of Coke
7 bottles of tonic
4 7-Up

...and this is the weed killer: 1 glass of Port and a packet of Cheese and Onion crisps!!??

All came to a colossal €708.40. Bargain.

Noel prefaced the bill with:

"Urgh! My head hurts today. Had a bit of a smash-up last night. Where? But an Irish bar of course. Me and Cool Prophet were the last ones left at it - again! So I got left with the bar bill - which I've just found in my pocket"

For those wondering, Cool Prophet is Noel's nickname for Gem Archer.

All Around the World by Oasis: Lyrics and History

"All Around the World" is an epic song by Britpop kings, Oasis.

It was released on 12 January 1998, hitting  number 1 in the UK Singles Chart; it is the longest single ever to do so.  So that's longer than the Beatles' Hey Jude! which was number one in 1968.

"All Around the World", nearly ten minutes long, is drugged out with string and horn pieces, and is followed up on the end of Be Here Now with  a two-minute-long instrumental, "All Around the World (Reprise)".

Unsurprisingly it also features a backing vocal in the coda remarkably similar to the corresponding section in The Beatles' song "Hey Jude".

All Around the World was written by Noel Gallagher, and there are recorded sessions of the band rehearsing it at the Boardwalk club as early as 1992 but it was not used until Oasis' third album Be Here Now when the band could really afford the overblown production.

Here's the Lyrics to All Around the World:

Its a bit early in the midnight hour for me,
To go through all the things that I want to be,
I don't believe in everything I see,
Y'know I'm blind so why dyou disagree

Take me away, cos I just don't want to stay,
And the relise you make me say are getting deeper every day,

These are crazy days but they make me shine,
Time keeps rolling by.

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
Youre gonna make a better day.

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
You know it's gonna be okay.

What you gonna do when the walls come falling down,
You never move you never make a sound,
When you gonna swin with the ridges that you found,
If you're lost at sea well I hope that you drown,

Take me away, cos I just don't want to stay,
And the lies you make me say are getting deeper every day,

These are crazy days but they make me shine,
Time keeps rolling by.

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
And all around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
You know it's gonna be okay.

Nanana, nanana, nananana nananaaa,
Nanana, nanana, nananana nananaaa,
Naaaa, naaaa, naaaaa, naaaaa, nanananana,
Nanananana, nanananana,

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
Youre gonna make a better day.

And all around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
You know it's gonna be okay.

Cos all around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
Youre gonna make a better day.

And all around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
You know it's gonna be okay.

Its gonna be okay.!
Its gonna be okay.!
Its gonna be okay.!
Its gonna be okay.!

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
Youre gonna make a better day,

Cos all around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
You know it's gonna be okay.

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
Youre gonna make a better day,

All around the world,
You gotta spread the word,
Tell em what you heard,
You know it's gonna be okay.

La lalalala la lalala la,
La lalalala la lalala la.

And I know what I know,
What I know what I know,
Yeah I know what I know,
Its gonna be okay.

And I know what I know,
What I know what I know,
Yeah I know what I know,
Its gonna be okay.

And I know what I know,
What I know what I know,
Yeah I know what I know,
Its gonna be okay.

And I know what I know,
What I know what I know
Yeah I know what I know
Pigs don't fly - never say die.!!!

So things are gonna fly - never say die.!!!
Things are gonna fly - never say die.

Nanana, nanana,
Nananana nananaaa nanana,
Nanana, nananana nananaaa

Things are gonna fly - never say die.!!!
So things are gonna fly - never say die.!!!

Oasis could cover Sowing the Seeds of Love?

Oasis are well known amongst the fan base for playing the Beatle's song I am the Walrus at the end of their shows. They've recorded a few covers as well, most notably for this fan, My Generation by The Who. Noel and co generally only cover classic rock songs they grew up with - nothing really contemporary.

What if they did something that was not rooted in the 60s or 70s like oh the eighties and a song called Sowing the Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears? Don't laugh! I can totally imagine Oasis doing a trippy cover version with Liam growling his way through the song.

Seeds of Love is kind of Beatlesish - it's got lots of horns and trumpets which Oasis love - see All Around the World from Be Here Now and its reprise. I'm sure if Oasis tried they could make Sowing the Seeds mega epic like Champagne Supernova or Who Feels Love?

Whadday reckon? Mad fer it?

Here's the video of Sowing the Seeds of Love for reference on You Tube:
