Google Trends: Noel Gallagher vs Liam Gallagher

So like I'm loving Google trends at the moment and I thought I would apply it to Oasis. Google trends allows you to compare one seaarch term used on google.com with another. Obstentisbly it allows web publishers to fine tune their content. But I'm using it for fun and cos I'm mad fer it.

So who is the most popular search term on google trends? Is it Noel or Liam?

Noel is the blue, Liam the red.



The result shows that in the last year its been fairly close but over time Noel is the winner - he at least has more spikes in searches - proably when he mouths off about Elton John.

Well what about the old Oasis Vs Blur rivalry? using the search terms Oasis Band and Blur Band we get this (Oasis Blue, Blur Red:



Which shows that Blur does not even rate a mention! Sucks to be Damon Albarn eh? Oh wait he's got
Gorillaz and his Clint Eastwood festish at least ;)

Manchester City Fan Upset

I was amused but not surprised to see Noel Gallagher quoted in response to the sacking of Manchester City FC's manager Sven-Goran Eriksson by owner Thaksin Shinawatra.

The Gallagher brothers are well known as avid City fans - Speaking to a BBC Radio station Noel said: "To get rid of him after the best season I can remember is ridiculous. It can't be for any footballing reasons."

For once Noel did not say anything too crazy and only went as far as calling Shinawatra a nutcase.

"Eriksson is a graceful and dignified man. This guy Shinawatra has come in and he seems like a bit of a nutcase. The only thing that will get him off the hook is if he's got Mourinho lined up. Apart from Mourinho, Eriksson's the best thing out there."
